About Trevor
I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), and I received my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University Seattle.
I’ve been in practice for five years. Outside of private practice, I’ve previously provided therapy in an inpatient psychiatric hospital and for students at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. Before finding my path as a therapist, I completed an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering.
I’m very passionate about therapy, the process of growth and healing, and walking the long and winding road of self-knowledge. I’m a long-time meditator, and previously spent several years living at a Zen Buddhist practice center in Seattle (not a fully monastic life, but we did meditate very regularly).
I have a strong interest in the healing applications of psychedelic medicines used in intentional settings. I also have a passion for understanding how many valid, and at times contradictory, approaches to psychological change blend into a cohesive whole. (For example, understanding how cognitive, behavioral, psychoeducational, mindfulness and acceptance-based, emotion and trauma-focused, somatic, and other approaches to growth and healing all have their place, how they overlap, and when certain approaches are called for over others).
I love spending time in nature, eating sushi, connecting with people one-on-one, and seeking experiences that open my mind.
